In a groundbreaking project, Wrights Plastics utilized their cutting-edge reverse engineering and manufacturing skills to develop durable, high-quality moulded seats for Severn Lamb’s renowned land trains. The challenge? Turning a single sample seat into a scalable and cost-effective seating solution without any additional specifications. 

Reverse Engineering Brings Precision to Life 

By leveraging their state-of-the-art reverse engineering services, Wrights Plastics transformed the sample into a comprehensive CAD model, paving the way for efficient prototyping and production. This precision-based approach resulted in a single mould capable of producing 2, 3, or 4-seat configurations tailored to the diverse needs of Severn Lamb's fleet. 

Durability Meets Sustainability 

The seats were vacuum formed from 6mm gloss acrylic ABS, a material renowned for its impact resistance and longevity. Designed to withstand the demands of high-traffic venues, the solution ensures sustainability through extended product life, aligning perfectly with Severn Lamb’s commitment to environmentally conscious manufacturing. 

A History of Collaboration 

This isn’t the first time Severn Lamb and Wrights Plastics have teamed up. The two companies previously worked together on the production of end caps for Severn Lamb's vehicles. This track record of successful collaboration laid the foundation for confidence in tackling this more complex project.
